Project 1 – Com 220

I attended a Young Life Alamance County banquet on Thursday February 28, 2019 at 4:00p.m at The Ramada. I was serving for part of the event but since it went on for several hours I was able to shoot it as well. It was a chance for parents with children involved in young life to see what it is all about and hear from an adult who is a young life leader and well as two of the high school students and their experiences. I followed the life magazine photo essay guided and color corrected the photos on photoshop after I took them.

Pictured above is the clincher shot. It is a picture of the main speaker from the event.

Pictured above is salt and pepper shakers on the table.

Pictured above is two Young life leaders conversing. (interaction)

Pictured above is a medium shot of several young life leaders and other attendants.

Pictured above is a close up shot of Brianna Pepperman, who was in charge of the whole event.

Pictured above and the following two pictures is a sequence of the young life high school and middle schoolers going to their club meeting.

My logo has a ribbon on top with a CD in the middle because I like music. There is an anchor in the middle because it symbolizes the beach. I put yellow and grey circles that resemble the sun and the moon because I like the outdoors. The background is pink because it is bright and symbolizes happiness. I wanted to keep it simple while also having some substance to it and having it represent me.

My Influential Photographer: Carr Clifton

Carr Clifton’s work stands out because of his attention and ability to capture landscapes with many different colors. His ability to use light to contrast the colors of the landscape. I chose Clifton as my favorite because of his focus on landscape and showing the earth in its most beautiful and pure form. Here is a link to Clifton’s work https://carrclifton.com/galleries/ .
